Factors Affecting Development of Society 

                A socirty needs power and independence to move ahead to sustainable development. People with diferrent economic and social status are there in every society. Economically, people are categorized as lower class, middle class, upper class and socially and racially people are divided as lower cast, schedule cast, upper cast and in term of sex and gender there are male and female. In term of gender, cast and economy, a society discriminates and terminates people. The social, gender and racial discrimination impair the ability and talent of people in spite of having tremendous potentialities in them. Economically, racially and socially deprived and impaired people can not utilize their ability and talents for development of the society. These people's mind is centralized in thoughts of earning their daily livelihood. 

                  Even in the age of miracle, Nepalese people are not able to gain economic, commercial technological advancement and innovative progress in spite of having immense potentialities. It is bitter reality that unless people are equally empowered in social, economic and ethnic aspects, society can not go move ahead and delop, every people of society needs equal rights, opportunities and power that flourish the ability of people. Every people can make plan and execute them properly if they have social, economic and gender power and conscious about their rights. The empowered people can understand the time factor, social and economic factors that are essential for overall development. There are various deprivations that impair the ability of people for making the plans in the society. Majority of people are victim of economic deprivation. Economic deprived people remain disabled in the matter of utilizing the ability. Similarly, people are socially and ethnically discriminated and excluded from various opportunities. Despite immense potentialities, many people of different ethnicities are powerless. In Nepal , unitary ruling system and regime grabbed the rights of many ethnic and made people powerlrss for long time. Consequently, the development, prosperity and progress of society are terribly affected. Cultural and lingual identity of many ethnic people have been subdued in the name nation unification and integration. Gender discrimination and segregation have impaired the ability of women who are weak and powerless. Comparatively women are not empowered as men in the terms of economic nd social rights and power. 

                  In the world even though women are the major founders of the society, yet women have not achieved equality with men. There are many countries where women are second class citizens. No matter how talented they are, they never get chance to develop. A lot of countries are there where women are treated as subordinate and second class citizen, though the equal rights is preserved in the constitution. 

                    Nepal is a country of great geographic, cultural, ethnic, religious diversity. Across the diversity, the majority of communities in nepal are patriarchal. Women's life is strongly influenced by her father, husband and son. Such patriarchal practices are further reinforced by the legal system. Marriage has a great importance in women life. The event of marriage determines the way of her life. The status of women is determined by the patriarchal social system, values and women's right preserved and protected by the state, and state policy for the development of women. 

                      Empirical data have proved that situation of Nepalese women is too severe to compare with men. Women's situation is very poor in health, education, participation, income generation, self-confidence, decision-making, access to policy making, and human rights. The political participation of women in the world seems relatively low and it is duty because of the existence of thre patriarchal mindset even in the political parties in almost all countries in the world. Throughout the world, women face violence every dat. From the battlefield to the bedroom, women are at risk from violence in all areas of life. Violence gainst women persists because of society canopy. Virtually every culture in the world contains forms of violence against women that are often invisible because they are seen as normal or acceptable. The underlying case of violence against women lies in gender discrimination-the denial of women's equality with men in all areas of life. The women are being discriminated in every aspect of the society. So, many other factors have contributed to turn Nepal a lower human development state. This kind of gender discrimination and domination over women have weaked the ability of the women. It is said that men nd women are two wheels of one cart. This popular proverb is limited in only saying. If we want the proper development of the society, it is need that women should me empowered and provided economic, social and political power. Inclusion and active participationin the stream of social development activities should be guaranteed. Many women in spite of having various potentialities and talents are compelled to live under male and even their husband and family. So, our attitude towards the women need to be changed and we male should accept that without the involvement and participation women, a family, society and country can not move ahead smoothly and get progress. In the lack of rights, opportunities and support, many women can not make future plan and participate in the streams of social developments and their capacilities are impaired. Such deprived female can not understand the essential factors of the society development. As a result, the society can not develop. 

                         It can analyzed that for developing the society, people of derived cast, gender, sex and class should be empowered and brought in the mainstream of leadership and development. Power to everyone should be dispersed and disseminated. People who are deprived of social, economic and racial power need to be empowered for the proper development of each society. The centralized ruling system of our country is the responsible factor that has discriminated and segregated people. The recent promulgation of our constitution has ensured the rights for every people which are seen in practice. If the provision as ensured by the constitution is executed and people are empowered, the development of the society and nation can be possible. Irrespective of providing equal rights and empowering the deprived groups, the sustainable and overall development of society can not be imagined. If we want the prosperity and change the condition of our society and country, empowering all types of people is indispensible. Every people should be included in the mainstream of state ruling and development tasks. Economically, socially and politically deprived and discriminated cast should be given chance and reservation to come ahead and leadership for the development of their own society. Social discrimination, economic deprivation and gender domination are key factors that haveprevented the society for going ahead in the development.
